TSOP-1738 IR Receiver on Pi 4 not working

Fri Jun 11, 2021 4:10 pm

I cant get the TSOP-1738 working with pi 4 even after following this : http://blog.byle.be/2016/02/04/lirc-on-raspberry-pi/ . I got the transmitter working but i need to record some more remote codes. when i try to get the pulse "sudo mode2 -d /dev/lirc0" no pulse is detected by TSOP.

Using this TSOP : https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B08LKF ... UTF8&psc=1. The connection is as described here : https://learn.adafruit.com/using-an-ir- ... r?view=all

Im using gpio pin 17. /boot/config.txt : dtoverlay=gpio-ir,gpio_pin=17

/etc/lirc/hardware.conf
LIRCD_ARGS="--uinput --listen"
#LIRCD_ARGS="--uinput"
LOAD_MODULES=true
DRIVER="default"
DEVICE="/dev/lirc0"
MODULES="lirc_rpi"

Im new to the raspberry pi and the hardware part of things and appreciate any help. Thanks a lot

Try looking at the signal on piscope.

Thanks Joan
The problem was with the hardware(IR Receiver) i was using. After switching to this,https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B08182 ... UTF8&psc=1 i was able to get the signals.

Dont know the technical details as to why that receiver wasn't working.
